I must say I have had the most amazing travel opportunities working in the Hotel, Travel and Tourism Industry for the past 25 years. Six continents down and one to go. Right from the get-go I just wanted to travel, as a child I recall lingering around my family friends travel agency reading up on the history of Aztecs, gazing through all the colorful brochures of the world, but more specifically Central and South America.
I even still have my very first atlas where I circled all the places I could visit one day to learn Spanish and learn more about the region that intrigued me so much. This is where I realized that a South American adventure would be my destiny one day.
My first travel experience over there, was straight into the bustling, colorful and eccentric city of Buenos Airies in Argentina. Then setting off on the well-travelled path down through the majestic landscapes of Patagonia, and onto ‘the end of the world’ the city of Ushuaia, Antarctica’s gateway. All before embarking on my most epic travel experiences and adventures yet, an expedition cruise to Antarctica!
After this journey, next was Cuba and overland through Central America. Constant feels of rhythm and music, rum and rhumba and a place to really reset and feel raw travel styles again. Guatemala, Belize and onto Mexico exploring volcanoes, cenotes, street food and the bright blue waters of the closer Caribbean Islands, beauty surrounds this diverse part of the world. And now I am so fortunate to call Central America my home.
The Adventure continues.
