OVERVIEW

Straddling the Argentinean and Brazilian border, Iguazu Falls is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in the world. 275 cascades are spread across a canyon of almost two miles. The most impressive of which is Garganta del Diablo, or the Devil’s Throat. On this Chimu Adventures Iguazu extension you will visit both sides of the waterfalls. Both sides provide awe-inspiring views of Iguazu falls, with the Argentinean side providing an up-close encounter and the Brazilian side boasting incredible panoramas. The jungle trails are also home to a diverse array of wildlife, so keep your eyes peeled for capuchin monkeys and toucan along the way.

ITINERARY

Arriving at Puerto Iguazu

You will arrive in the city of Puerto Iguazu, the Argentine gateway to the two different perspectives.
Consisting of 275 individual waterfalls lining a 2.7 kilometre wide horseshoe shaped gorge, Iguazu is certainly a spectacle and a must see South American destination.
After your arrival, settle into your superior accommodation with all the creature comforts spectacular Iguazu Falls.
The falls straddle the border of Argentina and Brazil and you can visit both sides for including a pool where you might like to spend the afternoon relaxing.

Iguazu Falls, Argentina

Today you will enjoy a full day touring the Argentinean side of Iguazu Falls in Parque Nacional Iguazu.
You will arrive early to board the first train to the Devil’s Throat, the largest of the falls at Iguazu. This particular section drops more than 262 feet into the Iguazu River below.
To reach the Devil’s Throat from the train you will follow walkways through the rainforest where, if you’re lucky, you might spot a toucan or even a black capuchin monkey.
After viewing the Devil’s Throat from the balcony, explore the upper circuit before discovering the lower circuit. Although not included, there is the option locally to take a speedboat ride closer to the falls.

Iguazu Falls, Brazil

After the excitement of visiting Iguazu in Argentina, today you will cross into Brazil to get a different perspective of the waterfalls.
On arrival at the Brazilian Visitor’s Centre you will board a tourist bus with panoramic windows to enter Parque Nacional do Iguacu.
Highlights of the Brazilian side include views of the Floriana Falls and a longer look along the canyon up the Iguazu River. You will also see the Devil’s Throat and the Devil’s Gorge Canyon from a different viewpoint.
Although not included in your tour, there are also options locally to take a boat ride closer to the falls on the Brazilian side.

Depart Puerto Iguazu

You will be transferred to the airport to depart for your next destination.
